textures: tentacles for banners

see, this time I had a perfect excuse for not posting in forever since my computer was broke.
but now I have a shiny new one and it's awesome and I love it. and even though there's Vista involved my PS 7 is still running. I'm very happy. heeee.

anyway, here are a few texture banners. I'm in an expermental stage (as if I'm ever not...) and there are many tentacles involved.

textures: fruitpunch

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.

It's been some time, huh? actually it's been so long that I feel intimidated to post something here... These are really random (ha, as if that was anything new...) and huge (1800x1200 in average) and don't ask me how I came up with the awesome names for them. my doctor's guess yesterday was an intestinal infection. yeah, I was wondering, too... anyway... here they are...

The Grunge Guide - Part II - Creating a Brush Set

We're making our own Grunge Brush Pack today. You should have completed Part I before this as we're using what we've already created.

Also I'll add a "rate the tutorial" poll from now on, as I realized that I'm judging the helpfulness of the tuts I'm posting by the number of people who defriend this community. Apparently the last one was not very helpful *g* I think a poll is a more accurate way ;)

another kind of styleguide: the Grunge Guide

hey there :) I'm busy as hell and still a little anti-social... but I managed to write down the first part of the Grunge Guide.
I splitted the whole thing into several parts. I suggest that you complete each part on its own before moving onto the next part as I will use the things we've already created in the upcoming parts :)
This first part covers grunge textures from scratch. As one of my last polls revealed that most of you are at least intermediate or advanced I don't explain any detail to excess. If I'm too vague or confusing please let me know and I'll edit it.

grungy textures

I'm very stressed at the moment which means I'm playing with Erich for meditation reasons. so here's some output :)
grungy textures, bigger and icon sized. I know they don't look that useful but actually they are because you can use them to add subtle grunge effects to your arts. (see my current LJ-banner) I used one of these textures for the grungy background effect.
or the more colorful grunge on this wall or this icon.

they are free to use. just please comment when you're downloading them. :)
these are all made from scratch. no scans, no stocks, etc.
the zip-files contain 200x200 versions for the icon textures (and more than the previews) and various big sizes for the large textures.

also if you want me to write a guide on how to create grunge from scratch (that will include the basics, the making of your own grunge brushes, and some grungy layout/desing tips&tricks) just vote yes :) I love polls, they are so much easier than actual interaction *g*
